Four Thai Nationals Detained Following Abduction of Chinese Woman in Bangkok

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 25, 2026, four Thai men have been detained and charged with illegal detention and assault. The suspects—identified as Somkiat (41), Suchat (41), Kittiporn (24), and Kittisak (22), all from Tak province—have denied the allegations.

The incident came to light when a black sedan evaded a police checkpoint in Kamphaeng Phet’s Nai Mueang sub-district. During the pursuit, the vehicle slowed down, and the suspects allegedly pushed a Chinese woman out of the back seat. The victim, who had her hands bound and her head covered, was injured but managed to seek assistance from local residents.

Authorities state that the suspects were allegedly transporting the woman toward the Mae Sot border. While the four men have been formally charged based on current evidence, police are continuing their investigation to determine if further charges are warranted.
