Ezy Airlines Suspends Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son Route Indefinitely
High airport parking fees have forced Ezy Airlines to halt its planned flight service between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son.
According to a report by Matichon Online on August 25, 2026, Ezy Airlines has officially suspended its plans to launch a flight route connecting Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son. The decision follows the airline's inability to manage the financial burden of airport parking fees, which reportedly amount to 40,000 baht.
For travelers and residents who were anticipating this new connection, the suspension means that air travel options between these two northern provinces remain unchanged for the time being. The route was intended to improve regional connectivity, but the current cost structure has rendered the operation unfeasible for the carrier.
In response to the cancellation, the Governor of Mae Hong Son is reportedly preparing to submit a formal request to the Ministry of Transport. The objective of this proposal is to seek potential assistance or policy adjustments that might alleviate the financial barriers currently preventing the service from launching. As of now, it remains to be confirmed whether the Ministry of Transport will intervene or provide any subsidies to help lower these operational costs. Until further notice, those planning travel between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son should continue to rely on existing ground transportation or alternative travel arrangements.
