Police Investigation Underway Following Violent Assault in Ayutthaya
A 28-year-old woman reported being abducted, robbed, and sexually assaulted by two men while commuting to work in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 28-year-old woman has filed a complaint regarding a violent incident that occurred on August 21, 2026. The victim stated that while she was riding her motorcycle to work at approximately 10:00 a.m., she was intercepted by two men on another motorcycle. The assailants, who concealed their faces with helmets and cloths, used a knife to force the victim to stop and then compelled her to drive to a secluded area near a canal road in Sena district, approximately 12 kilometers from the initial encounter.
Once in a remote area near a field, the attackers reportedly bound the victim’s hands and feet and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim resisted and managed to fight back, eventually alerting a nearby farmer, which caused the suspects to flee. The victim has expressed significant fear as the perpetrators remain at large. This incident highlights potential safety concerns for individuals traveling on isolated roads in rural areas. As of August 25, 2026, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to identify and apprehend the suspects. Residents and travelers in the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya region are advised to remain vigilant, particularly when traveling on quiet or less-frequented routes.
