Authorities Seize Large Drug Shipment in Buriram
Buriram officials arrested three individuals attempting to transport nearly 300 kilograms of illicit substances toward Bangkok.
On August 25, 2026, authorities in Buriram province announced the successful interception of a significant drug shipment. According to a report by Khaosod Online, a joint task force arrested three young suspects found in possession of 205 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 83 kilograms of ketamine. The illicit cargo had been concealed in sacks within roadside vegetation.
Officials, including Buriram Governor Piya Pijnam and military representatives, stated that the drugs were intended for transport to Bangkok. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics within Thailand is approximately 47 million baht, though authorities noted that the market value could reach 100 million baht if the substances were successfully trafficked abroad. The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing 'Operation 90 Days' anti-drug initiative.
