According to a report by Thai Post, the Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Somchai Leelanoy, has ordered the 5th Regional Office of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) to conduct an urgent investigation into the Khuan Kreng peat swamp forest. The directive follows the discovery of eight distinct palm oil plantations operating within the protected forest area.
