Police Apprehend Remaining Suspects in Chinese National Kidnapping Case

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 24, 2026, police in Kamphaeng Phet province have successfully apprehended two more individuals linked to the kidnapping of a Chinese national. The suspects, identified as 41-year-old Mr. Suchat and 22-year-old Mr. Kittisak, were found hiding in a temple in the Lan Dok Mai sub-district.

This follows an earlier incident where the victim was allegedly lured to Thailand by a Chinese acquaintance who coordinated with a criminal group to abduct her from a Bangkok hotel. The group was transporting the woman toward Mae Sot when they encountered a police checkpoint in Kamphaeng Phet. During the encounter, the victim managed to escape the vehicle and seek assistance from local residents. The suspects initially fled the scene, leading to a high-speed chase that ended when their vehicle’s tires burst, resulting in the initial arrest of two other accomplices, Mr. Somkiat and Mr. Kittiporn.

For travelers and residents, this incident highlights the importance of exercising caution when meeting acquaintances or arranging travel plans through unofficial channels. While the police have now detained four suspects, the investigation remains ongoing to confirm the full extent of the criminal network's operations and the involvement of the victim's acquaintance who allegedly orchestrated the meeting.
