Weather Conditions and Marine Warnings
According to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) as of August 24, 2026, a strong southwest monsoon is currently affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. This weather pattern is causing isolated heavy rains across the country.
Marine Impact
Marine conditions are expected to be hazardous. In the upper Andaman Sea, wave heights are projected to reach 2–3 meters, potentially exceeding 3 meters during thundershowers. Similarly, the upper Gulf of Thailand is experiencing waves of approximately 2 meters, which may also rise above 2 meters in areas affected by thundershowers.
Tropical Storm NARRA
The TMD is monitoring Tropical Storm NARRA, currently located over the Gulf of Tonkin. The storm is forecast to make landfall in the south of Guangxi, China, between August 25 and 26, 2026. Officials have confirmed that this storm is not expected to move toward Thailand.
