Thai Ministry of Commerce Launches Nationwide Corn Inspection Campaign
Authorities are inspecting corn purchasing centers across 22 provinces to ensure fair pricing, accurate weight, and moisture standards for farmers.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Thai Department of Internal Trade has initiated a comprehensive inspection campaign covering 22 provinces. Running from August 20 through December 2026, the initiative aims to monitor corn purchasing centers to protect farmers' income.
Officials are targeting 1,475 purchasing locations, with plans to verify the accuracy of 1,051 moisture meters and 1,497 weighing scales. The Department of Internal Trade emphasizes that moisture levels and weight measurements directly impact the final price farmers receive for their crops. By enforcing standardized equipment and fair purchasing practices, the government seeks to prevent potential exploitation during the harvest season.
