Police Pursue Suspects Following Abduction Attempt in Kamphaeng Phet
Authorities are searching for two remaining suspects after a Chinese woman was abducted from a Bangkok hotel and rescued during a police checkpoint chase.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, police in Kamphaeng Phet are actively searching for two additional suspects involved in the abduction of a Chinese national. The incident began on the evening of August 23, 2026, when a black Nissan Teana, allegedly carrying the victim who had been bound with cable ties, sped through a police checkpoint in Kamphaeng Phet.
Officers pursued the vehicle until it suffered a tire blowout in the Lan Dok Mai sub-district. During the pursuit, the victim managed to escape the vehicle and seek assistance from local residents. While two suspects—identified as 41-year-old Somkiat and 24-year-old Kittiporn, both from Mae Sot—were apprehended after fleeing into a nearby forest, authorities are continuing their investigation to locate the remaining two individuals involved in the crime. The victim had reportedly been taken from a hotel in Bangkok with the intent of being transported toward Mae Sot.
