Department of Internal Trade Inspects Animal Feed Corn Purchasing Sites
Thai authorities are conducting nationwide inspections of corn purchasing centers to ensure fair pricing and accurate measurement for farmers.
The Thai Department of Internal Trade (DIT) has launched a series of inspections across 22 provinces to monitor the purchasing of animal feed corn. According to Khaosod Online, the initiative follows directives from the Ministry of Commerce to ensure that farmers receive fair treatment regarding moisture content calculations and weight measurements.
On August 21, 2026, Deputy Director-General Yanee Srimanee led inspections in Nakhon Sawan province, specifically visiting Lee Buan Seng Phuet Phon Co., Ltd. in Phayuha Khiri district and Kan Eng Phuet Phon Ltd. Partnership in Tak Fa district. The inspections focused on verifying the accuracy of moisture meters and scales, as well as the transparency of posted purchase prices and criteria. Findings at these locations indicated that equipment was accurate and pricing was clearly displayed, with corn at 14.5% moisture priced at 9.13 baht per kilogram.
For residents and those involved in the agricultural supply chain, these inspections are significant as they aim to stabilize market practices and prevent financial losses for producers. While the initial checks in Nakhon Sawan showed compliance, the DIT continues its nationwide sweep to ensure consistent standards.
