GULF Secures 8.6 Billion Baht Loan for New Wind Power Projects
Gulf Energy Development has finalized a loan agreement with six financial institutions to fund three new wind power plants with a combined capacity of 208 megawatts.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) has officially signed a loan agreement totaling 8.6 billion baht. This funding, provided by a consortium of six financial institutions, is designated for the development of three wind power projects that will generate a combined capacity of 208 megawatts.
Ms. Yupapin Wangviwat, Chief Financial Officer of GULF, indicated that the total investment required for these projects is approximately 11.7 billion baht. The secured loan represents a significant step in the company's ongoing expansion into renewable energy infrastructure.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this development highlights the country's continued push toward diversifying its energy mix and increasing reliance on renewable sources. While the financing is now secured, the specific locations of these three wind farms and the projected timeline for when they will begin contributing to the national grid remain to be confirmed. As Thailand continues to modernize its power infrastructure, such investments are part of a broader trend aimed at enhancing energy stability. Observers will be watching to see how these projects integrate into the existing power network and whether they lead to further developments in the renewable energy sector.
