The primary objective of this board is to establish regulatory frameworks for the rapidly expanding data center industry in Thailand.
Officials identified water and electricity consumption as the most critical concerns, with water scarcity cited as the most significant challenge. The proposed board aims to implement oversight that covers the entire lifecycle of these projects, from initial application and project approval to construction and ongoing operations. By studying international case studies, the NESDC intends to prevent potential conflicts over resource allocation between data centers and other sectors.
