Thailand to Open M82 Motorway Section for Free Trial

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Ministry of Transport has announced the upcoming opening of the M82 motorway section between Ekkachai and Ban Phaeo. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, alongside other ministry officials and local authorities, recently inspected the site to ensure safety and operational readiness.

Starting Friday, August 28, 2026, the public will be permitted to use this new section of the motorway free of charge. This development is significant for commuters and travelers in the region, as it aims to alleviate traffic congestion on the route historically known for heavy delays. The project is part of the broader M82 motorway initiative connecting Bang Khun Thian, Ekkachai, and Ban Phaeo.
