Khao Laem National Park Temporarily Closes Kroeng Krawia Waterfall
Heavy rainfall has forced the temporary closure of Kroeng Krawia Waterfall in Kanchanaburi due to flash floods and rockfalls.
On August 24, 2026, the head of Khao Laem National Park in Kanchanaburi province announced the temporary closure of the Kroeng Krawia Waterfall, located in Sangkhla Buri district. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the decision follows several days of continuous heavy rain, which has caused the waterfall's water levels to rise significantly, resulting in murky, fast-moving currents and reports of falling rocks.
For travelers and residents, this closure is a safety measure. The park authorities noted that the 'Rak Bridge,' a popular walkway for viewing the waterfall, has sustained partial damage from the strong currents. While the waterfall area itself is off-limits, the park has clarified that nearby facilities, including the Kroeng Krawia Coffee shop, food and beverage vendors, and public restrooms, remain open to the public.
It remains to be confirmed when the waterfall will reopen to visitors. Park officials stated that operations will resume once water levels recede and the situation returns to a safe state.
