According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a couple from Hengyang, Hunan province, China, recently gained online attention for hosting their wedding at a Haidilao hot pot restaurant. The bride, identified as Zhao, explained that she and her husband had previously celebrated their engagement and marriage registration at the chain, fostering a personal connection to the venue.
The idea originated from a casual joke among friends during a meal, which led the couple to inquire with the restaurant manager. Haidilao agreed to host the event under standard pricing terms, charging only for the food consumed without additional fees for venue rental, decorations, or service charges. The couple invited approximately 160 guests, with the total bill for the hot pot meal amounting to roughly 20,000 yuan (approximately 97,000 THB).
