Thailand Launches 'Young Designer 2026' Competition to Modernize Thai Textiles
The Community Development Department has initiated the 'Young Designer 2026' contest at ICONSIAM to promote contemporary Thai fabric designs.
On August 18, 2026, the Community Development Department (CDD) officially launched the 'Young Designer 2026' competition at ICONSIAM in Bangkok. Presided over by CDD Director-General Siam Sirimongkol, the event aims to encourage the next generation of creators to innovate with traditional Thai textiles, aligning with the 'Thai Fabrics: Fun to Wear' initiative.
The launch event featured a panel of prominent industry experts, including fashion consultant Araya Indra, designer Sirichai Taharanon of THEATRE, and representatives from academic and creative sectors such as Srinakharinwirot University. Other notable designers involved include representatives from brands like TandT, Janesuda, Archive 026, and TR Tailor.
