House Donation Project Supports Vulnerable Families in Buriram
House Speaker Sophon Sarum led a ceremony to hand over two newly constructed homes to underprivileged families in Buriram province as a royal merit-making initiative.
On August 23, 2026, House Speaker and President of the National Assembly Sophon Sarum, accompanied by local officials and representatives from the Anatphon Sarum Foundation, participated in a ceremony to deliver two homes to low-income families in Lam Plai Mat District, Buriram Province. The project, organized by the 'Club of People Doing Good for the Father of the Land,' aims to provide secure and safe housing for the underprivileged as a tribute to His Majesty the King on his birthday.
One of the recipients, Mrs. Soi Usadee, received a new home along with essential household supplies. Mrs. Soi, who supports a family of four through general labor, was selected for her dedication to her family and her clean record.
For residents and visitors, this event highlights ongoing local efforts to address poverty and improve living standards in rural Thailand through public-private partnerships. While the project provides immediate relief for the selected families, it remains to be seen how many additional households will be supported under this specific initiative in the coming months. The event underscores the role of local political figures and charitable foundations in community development efforts within the Buriram region.
