Traffic Police Arrest Four at Rama II Checkpoint Following Drug Discovery

On the night of August 22, 2026, at approximately 11:10 PM, traffic police from Division 5 of the Traffic Police Division conducted a routine alcohol and crime prevention checkpoint on Rama II Road in the Samae Dam area of Bang Khun Thian, Bangkok. According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, officers stopped a white and black vehicle carrying four passengers who appeared to be exhibiting suspicious behavior consistent with drug use.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered nine methamphetamine pills (yaba) hidden in the storage compartment between the driver and passenger seats. Additionally, the search yielded crystal methamphetamine (ice) packaged in a clear plastic zip-lock bag. All four individuals were subsequently detained, and preliminary testing indicated the presence of narcotics in their systems.
