NIDA Poll Assesses Public Sentiment on Anutin Government Stability

On August 23, 2026, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA Poll) released findings from a survey conducted between August 18 and 20, 2026. The study, which sampled 1,310 citizens nationwide, examined public perceptions regarding issues that could impact the stability of the government led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

According to Khaosod Online, respondents identified several key issues as potential threats to the administration. The most significant concern, cited by 62.75% of participants, is the alleged corruption in local government civil service examinations. Other major issues include allegations regarding the Senate selection process (55.88%) and the ongoing scrutiny of the Khao Kradong land case (42.29%). Additionally, respondents noted concerns over energy price volatility, Thailand-Cambodia relations, and proposed emergency loan decrees.

Regarding the government's future, 37.86% of those surveyed expressed a belief that the administration would struggle to survive these challenges, while others suggested that even if the government remains in power, it would likely emerge significantly weakened.

For residents and travelers, these findings highlight a period of political sensitivity. While these issues primarily concern domestic governance and administrative integrity, they reflect a climate of public scrutiny.
