New Cultural Tourism Route Connects Bangkok to Koh Kerd
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has launched the 'Koh Kerd Sin Phaen Din Siam' project, offering a new cultural route between Bangkok and Ayutthaya.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, has introduced a new cultural tourism route titled 'Koh Kerd Sin Phaen Din Siam.' This initiative links the Grand Palace in Bangkok to Koh Kerd in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province.
Running from August 12 to December 26, 2026, the project provides visitors with access to high-level Thai craftsmanship and heritage sites, including the Khon Learning Center, the Arts of the Kingdom Museum, and the Borom Mangala Nusarani Pavilion. Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Phancharoenworakul stated that the route is designed to showcase the wisdom and dedication of Thai artisans, reflecting the royal intentions of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
For travelers and residents, this route offers a unique opportunity to observe the intricate processes behind traditional Thai arts. To facilitate access, the project provides free shuttle bus services once daily, operating from Wednesday to Sunday. While the program is currently active, those interested in participating should note that the shuttle service is limited to one trip per day. It remains to be confirmed whether the project will be extended beyond the December 26 closing date or if additional shuttle capacity will be added based on demand.
