Renowned Monk Luang Pu Jue Passes Away in Chaiyaphum
Luang Pu Jue, the respected abbot of Wat Khao Ta Ngoh Udomporn, has passed away at the age of 82 following a fall.
On the morning of August 23, 2026, Luang Pu Jue Phanthamutto (Phra Ratchaphavanawachirakhun), a highly revered meditation master and the abbot of Wat Khao Ta Ngoh Udomporn in Nong Bua Rawe district, Chaiyaphum province, passed away. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the monk was discovered in his living quarters after suffering a fall in the bathroom at approximately 4:00 AM. Local police and medical personnel from Nong Bua Rawe Hospital arrived at the scene to conduct an initial examination.
For residents and visitors in the region, this event marks the loss of a significant spiritual figure. The temple is currently coordinating with the Chaiyaphum Provincial Cultural Office and the monk’s disciples to organize appropriate funeral rites. The late abbot’s remains are being moved to the temple’s pavilion to allow followers and the public to pay their final respects.
