Security Alert: Armed Attack at Bongo Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Narathiwat
Authorities are searching for a stolen government vehicle after an armed group attacked the Bongo Subdistrict Administrative Organization office in Narathiwat province.
On the evening of August 22, 2026, approximately 30 armed individuals carried out an attack on the Bongo Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) office in the Ra-ngae District of Narathiwat province. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, the group subdued and tied up the security personnel on duty before setting fire to the facility.
Following the arson, the perpetrators fled the scene in a government-owned vehicle, identified as a grey 2013 Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck with the license plate 'กง 2474 นราธิวาส'. The suspects were last seen heading toward the Chulabhorn Phatthana 5 village area.
Local police from the Ra-ngae station have issued an urgent alert to residents in Narathiwat and surrounding areas, requesting that the public report any sightings of the stolen vehicle. Security forces are currently tracking the suspects and monitoring transit routes to prevent the vehicle from being utilized in further criminal activities.
