Curfew Imposed in Narathiwat Following Multiple Security Incidents
Authorities have declared a curfew in Narathiwat province until 6:00 AM following a series of coordinated security incidents reported on August 22, 2026.
On the evening of August 22, 2026, the Narathiwat Task Force announced a curfew effective until 6:00 AM the following morning. This measure follows a series of security disturbances that began around 8:00 PM across Narathiwat province. According to the Narathiwat Public Relations Office, at least 11 locations were targeted, involving reports of explosions, arson, and attacks on government facilities.
Key incidents reported include tire burnings along the bypass road toward Narathiwat Airport and near the Thung Kha area, as well as explosions near the border of Marubo Tok and Chaloem sub-districts in Ra-ngae district. Other affected areas include sites in Si Sakhon, Bacho, and Mueang Narathiwat districts. Security forces are currently working to secure these areas and investigate the full extent of the damage.
