Authorities Seize 285 Kilograms of Ketamine in Nakhon Ratchasima
Police intercepted a large shipment of ketamine abandoned on a roadside in Nakhon Ratchasima, suspected to be part of a drug trafficking operation.
On August 22, 2026, authorities in Nakhon Ratchasima province successfully intercepted a significant quantity of illicit substances. According to a report by Khaosod Online, officers from the Border Patrol Police Division 2, acting on intelligence regarding a planned drug handover in Bua Lai District, discovered 285 kilograms of ketamine abandoned along a roadside near the Nong Wa Subdistrict Administrative Organization.
The narcotics were found packed in 15 brown cardboard boxes, which were wrapped in black plastic bags. Each box contained approximately 19 kilograms of white crystalline ketamine. Police conducted a stakeout at the location until 10:00 PM, waiting for individuals to retrieve the shipment, but no suspects appeared to claim the drugs.
For residents and travelers in the region, this incident highlights ongoing efforts by Thai law enforcement to disrupt drug trafficking routes moving toward inner zones of the country. While the seizure prevents a large volume of narcotics from reaching the market, the investigation remains active.
