Body of Missing Man Recovered from Yuam River After 29 Days
A 34-year-old man who went missing while retrieving wood from the Yuam River in Mae Hong Son has been found deceased nearly a month later.
On August 22, 2026, authorities in Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province, recovered a body from the banks of the Yuam River near Ban Thung Pam. According to Khaosod Online, the deceased was identified by relatives as a 34-year-old man who had been missing since July 24, 2026. The individual had reportedly disappeared after entering the river to retrieve a piece of wood and being pulled under by the current.
Local officials, including the Mae Sariang District Chief, police from Tha Ta Fang Station, and medical personnel, arrived at the scene to conduct an examination. While the body could not be identified by facial features due to the duration of time spent in the water, family members confirmed the identity. The victim’s family is now preparing for funeral rites.
