A Thai physician has highlighted the health implications of 'corneal arcus,' a condition recently discussed in relation to a prominent television host.
On August 22, 2026, Dr. Kosit Eawchai, known as 'Mor Benz,' released a public health advisory via TikTok regarding the condition known as corneal arcus. The discussion was prompted by the public disclosure of television host Kanchai Kamnerdploy, who has long exhibited a visible ring around his iris.
Dr. Kosit explained that while the appearance might be mistaken for contact lenses, it is medically identified as Arcus Cornealis. In younger individuals, particularly men aged 30 to 49, this condition is often a clinical indicator of hyperlipidemia (high blood cholesterol). The physician noted that research suggests individuals presenting with this trait may face a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular disease—up to 3.7 times higher—and a four-fold increase in the risk of stroke compared to the general population. He also advised that yellow patches around the eyes can serve as another potential warning sign.
