The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning due to the influence of Tropical Storm NARRA and a strong southwest monsoon, bringing heavy rain and high waves to coastal regions.

According to the Thai Meteorological Department, a monsoon trough currently extends across the upper North of Thailand and Laos, connecting to Tropical Storm NARRA, which is positioned over Hainan, China. Simultaneously, a rather strong southwest monsoon is prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and the country itself.
Impact and Forecast
Isolated heavy rains are expected, particularly in the western regions of the North, the Central plains, and the East. For those residing in or traveling to coastal areas, the weather conditions pose significant maritime risks. The department reports that waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected to reach heights of 2–3 meters, potentially exceeding 3 meters during thundershowers. In the upper Gulf of Thailand, wave heights are forecasted to be around 2 meters, rising above that level in areas experiencing thundershowers.
