Executive Diagnosed with Rectal Cancer After Unexplained Weight Loss

According to a report by Khaosod Online, a 60-year-old male executive working for a multinational corporation was recently diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma. The patient, who frequently traveled for work and maintained an irregular diet, initially dismissed symptoms such as frequent bloating, altered bowel habits, and diarrhea as consequences of professional stress and poor eating habits.

It was only after colleagues noticed significant physical changes that the patient sought a medical examination. The check-up revealed an 8kg weight loss over the past year. Dr. Liang Cheng-Chao, Deputy Director of Beitou Health Management Hospital, confirmed that a biopsy of a suspicious lesion found in the rectum returned positive for rectal adenocarcinoma. The patient has since been referred to a colorectal surgeon for further treatment. Additionally, the health screening identified other gastrointestinal issues, including acid reflux, gastric ulcers, and a Helicobacter pylori infection.
