BAM Announces Debt Relief for Flood-Affected Customers in Nan

Bangkok Commercial Asset Management (BAM) has launched a three-month debt suspension program for customers impacted by flooding in Nan province.

On August 21, 2026, Bangkok Commercial Asset Management (BAM) announced emergency measures to support customers affected by severe flooding in Nan province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, BAM CEO Rak Vorakitpokatorn has directed local offices to conduct immediate assessments of customers, including those currently undergoing debt restructuring and those purchasing properties through installment plans.

The primary relief measure is a three-month debt payment suspension. This initiative is designed to alleviate financial pressure while residents focus on restoring their homes and livelihoods. BAM stated that the level of assistance will be determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the severity of the damage sustained by each individual.

For residents and travelers in the region, this development highlights the ongoing impact of the flooding on local economic stability. While the debt relief provides a buffer for BAM clients, the full extent of the damage to infrastructure and the duration of the recovery period remain to be confirmed. BAM has emphasized that its local teams are working to reach affected individuals as quickly as possible to ensure that support is appropriately targeted. Those impacted are encouraged to monitor official updates from BAM regarding the specific application process for these relief measures.
