Continuous heavy rain has triggered flooding in the Laplae District of Uttaradit province, impacting homes and agricultural land. Local authorities have issued a 24-hour alert.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 21, 2026, persistent heavy rainfall in Uttaradit province has led to a significant rise in water levels across local waterways. The mountainous areas of Laplae District have been particularly affected, causing the Mae Phun and Mae Phrong creeks to overflow. This surge of water rapidly inundated homes and agricultural areas in Tambon Phai Lom.
Komsan Am-muang, the Chief of the Phai Lom Subdistrict Administrative Organization, has issued a 24-hour warning for residents to remain vigilant against flash floods, forest runoff, and overflowing banks. Residents are advised to move belongings and vehicles to higher ground, secure important documents, and exercise caution regarding electrical hazards. Special attention is requested for vulnerable individuals in the community.
Local authorities, including the Uttaradit Provincial Administrative Organization and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, are coordinating efforts to clear debris, weeds, and fallen trees obstructing water flow.
