On August 21, 2026, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt chaired the third meeting of the Bangkok Development Strategy Committee to review the draft of the 20-year Bangkok Development Plan, specifically phase four (2027–2031). Developed in collaboration with the Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute, the plan is structured around three core frameworks and nine strategic pillars designed to drive the city's growth.

The previous motto, "Bangkok, a livable city for everyone," has been updated to "Bangkok, a city that creates opportunities and hope for everyone."
