Thai Live Pig Farm Prices Increase by 2 Baht per Kilogram
National swine associations have announced a 2 baht per kilogram price hike for live pigs to support small-scale farmers following three years of financial losses.
On August 21, 2026, the National Swine Raisers Association of Thailand, in coordination with regional cooperatives, announced an increase in the recommended farm-gate price for live pigs by 2 baht per kilogram. According to Khaosod Online, this adjustment is intended to assist small-scale farmers who have faced significant financial losses over the past three years. Government officials have reportedly acknowledged these challenges following recent discussions.
For residents and travelers, this price adjustment reflects broader shifts in the local agricultural economy. Current regional farm-gate prices are reported as follows: 74–76 baht/kg in the West, 74–77 baht/kg in the East, 74 baht/kg in the Northeast, 76–78 baht/kg in the North, and 76 baht/kg in the South.
Looking ahead, the 'Thai Help Thai Plus' (60/40) support program is scheduled to conclude on September 30, 2026. Industry representatives expressed expectations that market stability for pork prices will improve following this date. While the association aims to balance farmer support with consumer interests, the long-term impact on retail meat prices remains to be confirmed as the support program nears its end.
