Thai immigration authorities arrested five foreign workers at a Chinese-funded construction site in Rayong province for illegal entry and lack of work permits.
On August 21, 2026, officers from the Immigration Bureau Division 3 conducted an inspection at a Chinese-funded construction site located in Map Kha, Nikhom Phatthana District, Rayong Province. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the operation was initiated following orders from Police Major General Songprod Sirisukha to investigate potential immigration and labor violations in the area.
During the inspection, authorities identified five foreign nationals working at the site who were in violation of Thai immigration laws. The group consisted of two Chinese nationals and three Myanmar nationals. Officials confirmed that these individuals were operating without valid work permits and had entered the country illegally. All five individuals were taken into custody for further legal processing.
