According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a five-year-old girl in northern China was successfully treated after accidentally swallowing a 50-gram gold bar while playing at home. The child was admitted to the Beijing Children's Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, on August 16, approximately six hours after the incident occurred.

Medical staff noted that the gold bar, measuring four centimeters in length, was located in the child's stomach via X-ray. Doctors emphasized that while the object was smooth, its significant weight and density posed a serious risk of gastrointestinal damage, including potential perforation or severe internal bleeding. Due to the specialized equipment required for the extraction, the family had to visit multiple clinics before reaching a facility capable of performing the emergency endoscopy.
