On August 21, 2026, a 10-wheel dump truck carrying a full load of clay overturned at the Khlong 2 U-turn on Lam Luk Ka Road in Pathum Thani province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the incident occurred when the vehicle experienced a sudden brake failure while the driver was attempting to slow down in heavy traffic.
The truck veered onto the median, colliding with and damaging three light poles and traffic signs before overturning. The accident resulted in a significant spill of clay across the road, obstructing traffic, and caused a diesel fuel leak. The driver, identified as 46-year-old Mr. Woraphop, stated he was transporting the soil from Navanakorn to Khlong 4 when the mechanical failure occurred.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident caused localized traffic congestion as authorities worked to clear the debris and manage the fuel spill.
