Morgan Stanley Upgrades Target Prices for Six Thai Energy Stocks
Global investment firm Morgan Stanley has raised its target prices for six major Thai energy companies, signaling a positive outlook for the refinery and petrochemical sectors.
According to a report by Prachachat Business on August 21, 2026, Morgan Stanley has adjusted its target prices for six prominent Thai energy stocks: PTT, TOP, PTTGC, OR, BCP, and SPRC. The firm’s analysis reflects a bullish sentiment toward the refinery and petrochemical cycles, supported by sustained high refining margins.
Among the companies mentioned, Star Petroleum Refining (SPRC) saw the most significant adjustment with a target price increase of nearly 53%, followed by PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) with an increase of over 37%. This upward revision suggests that international analysts are optimistic about the profitability and operational outlook of these major players in the Thai energy market.
For residents and travelers, this news highlights the current strength of Thailand’s energy sector, which remains a cornerstone of the national economy. While these financial adjustments primarily concern investors and market analysts, they provide insight into the industrial health of the country. It is important to note that these figures represent the projections of a single financial institution. Whether these optimistic targets will translate into long-term market stability or impact consumer energy prices remains to be confirmed by broader market performance and future economic reports.
