Fatal Shooting Incident Reported in Yala Province

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a violent incident occurred in the early hours of August 21, 2026, in the Mueang Yala district. At approximately 1:30 a.m., local police were alerted to a shooting on the Lam Mai-Ban Nam Yen road in Tambon Lam Mai.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a motorcycle overturned on the road alongside evidence of the attack. The victims, three teenagers riding the motorcycle, were targeted by unidentified assailants. A 14-year-old boy, who was operating the vehicle, sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and later passed away. Two other individuals who were riding as passengers were also injured in the attack.

Police, led by the Lam Mai Police Station, have secured the scene to allow forensic teams to collect evidence. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive behind the shooting.
