Military Deployed for Flood Relief in Sukhothai
The 39th Military Circle has mobilized personnel and equipment to assist residents in Sukhothai province following flash flood warnings.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 20, 2026, Major General Noppadol Watcharajitbovorn, Commander of the 39th Military Circle, has ordered the deployment of rapid disaster relief teams to the Si Satchanalai district of Sukhothai. This mobilization follows heavy rainfall caused by a monsoon trough passing through Northern and Upper Northeastern Thailand between August 18 and 21, which has triggered concerns regarding flash floods and forest runoff.
The military units, including volunteer personnel, are equipped with specialized water rescue gear and vehicles. They have been instructed to remain on standby 24 hours a day to provide immediate assistance to affected residents. The 39th Military Circle is currently maintaining close surveillance of water levels to ensure a rapid response to any emergency situations.
