Fatal Traffic Accident in Trat Province

On August 20, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred in Nong Samet, Trat province, involving a sedan and a motorcycle. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, police were notified at approximately 5:30 PM regarding a collision that sent both vehicles into a roadside ditch.

Authorities identified the deceased as a 48-year-old man, Mr. Prasert, who was reportedly on his way to pick up his child from school when the incident occurred. The driver of the sedan, a 60-year-old man identified as Mr. Chatchaw, allegedly panicked and mistakenly pressed the accelerator, causing his vehicle to strike the motorcycle and pin the victim underwater. Rescue teams and local residents attempted to lift the vehicle, but a tow truck was ultimately required to recover the body.

Mr. Chatchaw sustained injuries and was transported to Phra Phai Maha Ratch Hospital for medical treatment.
