On August 20, 2026, a mudslide struck a residence in the Sop Moei district of Mae Hong Son province, leaving five people trapped. According to reports from Khaosod English, the incident occurred amidst ongoing flash flood conditions in the region.
In response to the emergency, six soldiers from the 36th Mobile Development Unit, operating under the Armed Forces Development Command’s Region 3 Development Office, were deployed to the site. They are currently working alongside an emergency disaster relief team to conduct rescue operations and assist those affected by the environmental hazards.
