BAAC Launches Emergency Financial Relief for Flood-Affected Farmers in Nan
The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has introduced low-interest loan measures and immediate aid for farmers impacted by flash floods in Nan province.
Following recent flash floods in Nan province, the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has initiated a relief program to support affected farmers and residents. According to Khaosod Online, the bank is distributing relief bags and food to those impacted by the disaster.
To assist with recovery, the BAAC has launched two specific financial measures. The first is an emergency loan of up to 50,000 THB, featuring a 0% interest rate for the first six months, after which the standard MRR rate applies. The second is a rehabilitation loan of up to 500,000 THB with an interest rate of MRR-2 per year. These programs are available to existing BAAC clients who have suffered property or agricultural damage.
For residents and travelers in the region, this development highlights the severity of the current flooding and the ongoing recovery efforts. While the bank is currently providing immediate aid, officials have stated that staff will conduct formal damage assessments once water levels recede to determine further assistance needs.
