Government Mobilizes Recovery Efforts in Nan Following Severe Flooding

Following recent flooding in Nan province, Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit has directed the Royal Irrigation Department to accelerate recovery efforts. According to Prachachat Business, the Minister has deployed six water-spraying trucks and various machinery to clear mud from residential areas and restore infrastructure as quickly as possible. To support displaced residents, a mobile kitchen has been established in Phu Phiang District to address immediate food shortages.

For residents and travelers in the region, these efforts aim to restore normalcy to affected areas. Additionally, the Ministry of Commerce has issued directives to local offices to monitor the supply and pricing of essential goods, ensuring that items remain available and are not sold at inflated prices during the recovery period. Water levels are also being managed, with approximately 400 million cubic meters of water reported to have flowed into the Sirikit Dam.

While the government is prioritizing the restoration of living spaces, the full extent of the damage to local infrastructure and the timeline for complete recovery remain to be confirmed.
