Chiang Mai University’s STeP Launches Policy Initiative for Northern Agricultural Value Chains
The Science and Technology Park of Chiang Mai University (STeP) is developing new policy measures to integrate Northern Thailand’s agricultural and food sectors into the global market.
On August 20, 2026, the Science and Technology Park of Chiang Mai University (STeP) hosted a workshop to gather input from government, private, and academic sectors. The initiative aims to design policy measures that connect the Northern Economic Corridor (NEC) agricultural and food value chains to the Global Value Chain.
According to Khaosod Online, this effort is part of the third phase of a project focused on systematic policy innovation. General Manager Pichart Intrawut opened the session, emphasizing the goal of creating practical, actionable policies that support local entrepreneurs in target industries. By fostering collaboration between stakeholders, the project seeks to elevate regional products to meet international standards.
