Two Critically Injured in Serious Traffic Collision at Khae Rai Intersection
A motorcycle and a public bus collided at the Khae Rai intersection in Nonthaburi on August 20, 2026, leaving two people in critical condition.
On the morning of August 20, 2026, a severe traffic accident occurred at the Khae Rai intersection in Nonthaburi, involving a public bus and a motorcycle. According to Khaosod Online, emergency responders from the Rattanathibet Police Station, Phra Nang Klao Hospital, and local rescue foundations were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m. following reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, authorities found a cream-and-red public bus with a Honda Wave motorcycle trapped underneath it. The two individuals on the motorcycle, identified as 37-year-old Mr. Itthiporn and 48-year-old Ms. Rujira, sustained critical injuries and were transported to Krungthai Pak Kret Hospital and Mongkutwattana Hospital, respectively.
The bus driver stated that they were traveling from Ngam Wong Wan Road toward Rattanathibet Road and entered the intersection under a green light. For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the high-traffic nature of the Khae Rai intersection, a major junction in the Nonthaburi area.
While the bus driver maintains that they had the right of way, the Rattanathibet police have not yet concluded their investigation. Authorities are currently in the process of reviewing traffic camera footage to determine the exact cause of the collision and verify the sequence of events leading up to the impact.
