DITP Addresses Trade Barriers for Thai Exports to China and India

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), under the Ministry of Commerce, is actively seeking to resolve trade barriers affecting Thai exports. According to Khaosod Online, DITP Director-General Sunanta Kangvalkulkij recently met with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) to discuss strategies for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through 2026–2028.

During the discussions, the DITP addressed specific challenges, including China’s ban on Thai inhalers and India’s restrictions on the import of Thai silver products. These trade hurdles are significant for local manufacturers and exporters looking to maintain their market presence in these key regions. To bolster SME competitiveness, the DITP and FTI are collaborating on the 'SMEs Pro-active' program and developing educational initiatives such as the 'Go China' and 'China Survival Program' to better equip Thai businesses for the Chinese market.
