Authorities Intercept 6 Tons of Smuggled Avocados in Mukdahan

According to Khaosod Online, Commander Oros Phutthako of the Mukdahan Naval Station received intelligence regarding an illicit shipment crossing the Mekong River from Savannakhet, Laos, toward the Thai riverbank near the Indochina Market in Mukdahan city.
Acting on this information, a joint task force comprising the MRU and the Marine Police conducted a patrol near the Sri Sumang community, approximately 1.2 kilometers from the naval station. During the operation, authorities apprehended three Lao nationals and seized a steel boat equipped with an outboard motor used to transport the cargo. The avocados were confiscated as evidence of tax evasion.
