On August 19, 2026, security measures were intensified at Wat Pa Adulyaram in Khon Kaen following a series of disturbances caused by individuals targeting the temple and its residents. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the incidents occurred over the previous night and continued into the afternoon, prompting police intervention to detain the involved parties.
Phra Khru Adulsarnnithet, the abbot of the temple, returned to the monastery after a medical appointment at Srinagarind Hospital. Despite the distress caused by the events—which led the abbot to seek temporary shelter elsewhere the previous night—he expressed a desire to forgive those involved, citing his belief in karma and a wish to avoid further conflict. The abbot has requested a permanent police presence at the temple for the time being to ensure the safety of the monastic community and local visitors.
For residents and travelers in the area, the temple remains under police protection.
