MaxValu to Rebrand as Tops Following CRC Acquisition

MaxValu supermarkets in Thailand will transition to the Tops brand, with private-label TOPVALU products available only until September 25, 2026.

Following the recent acquisition of AEON (Thailand) Co., Ltd.—the operator of the Japanese-style supermarket chain MaxValu—by Central Retail Corporation (CRC), significant changes are coming to the retail landscape. According to a report by Prachachat Business, CRC plans to rebrand all 30 existing MaxValu locations across Thailand to the 'Tops' banner.

For residents and travelers who frequent these stores, the most immediate change involves the availability of the store's signature private-label goods. MaxValu has officially announced that its 'TOPVALU' product line will only be stocked and sold until September 25, 2026. After this date, these specific items will no longer be available as the stores complete their transition to the Tops brand identity.

While the rebranding of the 30 locations is confirmed, the specific timeline for the physical store conversions and the exact date when each individual branch will fully adopt the Tops signage and operational standards remain to be clarified. Customers should anticipate a shift in product variety and store layout as these locations integrate into the Central Retail network. Those who rely on specific TOPVALU items are advised to plan their shopping accordingly before the late September deadline.
