Severe Flooding Disrupts Bus Services in Pua District, Nan Province
Heavy rainfall has caused flash floods in Nan province, forcing the state-run Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS) to truncate the Bangkok-Thung Chang bus route at Pua District.
On August 19, 2026, Khaosod Online Thailand reported that persistent heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods and forest runoff in Nan province. The flooding is particularly severe in the area spanning from the Nam Khwang Bridge to the PTT gas station in Pua District.
Due to these hazardous conditions and the lack of viable alternative routes, the state-run Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS) has announced a temporary adjustment to its Bangkok-Thung Chang bus service. For safety reasons, buses will terminate and depart from the Pua District bus station instead of continuing to the final destination of Thung Chang.
This disruption is significant for travelers and residents who rely on public transport to reach northern areas of Nan province. Passengers affected by this route change are eligible to request a ticket refund at any BKS ticket counter nationwide.
