M6 Motorway Opens Weekend Access Between Bang Pa-in and Pak Chong

According to Prachachat Business, Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has confirmed that the M6 motorway section connecting Bang Pa-in to Pak Chong will be open for toll-free travel during weekends. This initiative is scheduled to commence at noon on August 21, 2026. The government aims to utilize this new route to facilitate easier travel to the Northeast region, thereby supporting local economic growth and tourism.

For travelers and residents, this development offers a more convenient transit option between the Central region and the gateway to Isan. Officials have emphasized that safety and convenience are top priorities during this trial period. The project is expected to be fully operational across its entire length by December 25, 2026, in time for the New Year holiday season.

While the weekend access is currently free, the Ministry has indicated that toll collection based on distance traveled is slated to begin in April 2027. Travelers should note that while the route is opening in stages, specific operational details regarding traffic management and potential restrictions for different vehicle types during the trial phase remain subject to official updates.
